Bridal portraits studio / wedding

I am often asked about the differences between a Bridal Session at the studio prior to the wedding day, versus photography at the wedding. We recommend doing both. The studio session is done in a controlled studio environment which allows the opportunities of professional backdrops and lighting. The wedding day can provide a great location for awesome images, provided the time that is allocated for the photography is sufficient, and the area for pre wedding photography offers some beautiful places to shoot. White Sands New Mexico Wedding Photography

White Sands New Mexico has to be one of my favorite places to create unique wedding photography. We had a blast on Sunday with D'ann and John. After a great wedding on Saturday in Ruiodoso, we headed down to White Sands National Monument for some stunning romantic images.

Hi Kevin, I know it has been nearly a year since you photographed the wedding of Doug Dicken, our son and Nicole Freeman Dicken (Sep 27, 2008), but we were just able to visit them this week and see their wedding album for the first time. It was beautifully done and I wanted to write something in Angie's List for the benefit of people like us who were looking for someone such as you and didn't find any help through Angie's List. The following is what we submitted: "Living in Florida and trying to select a photographer in Albuqueque, we were very fortunate to find Kevin's Photography to capture our son's and his fiance's wedding. During our selection process of a photographer and the wedding photo package selction process, Kevin, his wife, and staff answered all our questions which was all done by phone, email, and his website. Kevin and his staff were very responsive and professional to work with and because of the good communications, we decided upon his services. We had never met him until we flew into town a few days before the wedding. Kevin's enthusiasm for setting up the wedding shots was exciting. Without hesitation, he efficiently moved the bride, groom, family, and wedding party into fantastic creative poses in the beautiful outdoor setting of Casa de Suenos. He recommended that we start 1 1/2 hours prior to the ceremony in order to take most of the photos so that the wedding guests were not left waiting afterwards. He brought two assistants to help create the wonderful photos. Kevin also ensured many candid action photos were taken during the reception. After Kevin finished taking about 1000 pictures, he inconspicuously provided the guests with his business card and website so that anyone who wanted photos could order them online. The photo album that our son and daughter-in-law ordered turned out lovely. I can only say very complimentary things about Kevin's Photography's quality product, customer service, and his sincerity in making it a happy and personalized experience for us. I highly recommend him. He is someone who can be trusted when you are coming in from out-of-town and know no one. Kevin is a true professional. His work speaks for itself." What a great idea our photo booth was for this special day!! We had such a fantastic time at this Taos New Mexico wedding watching guests let go of their inhibitions and make wonderful photographs all on their own!! The line never stopped and the people never stopped laughing!! The guests really enjoyed this interaction with the camera and having this photo booth made the party atmosphere boom!! This photo booth was a great way to give the guests something extra to remember this beautiful wedding day. What a blast!!

Winter Pictures in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Creating fun and exciting images is what I live for. A trip up to the Sandia mountains for some winter wonderland engagement photos proved to be a success. I love that extra bit of excitement when it comes to great locations and couples. Late this month we are heading to Lincoln, New Mexico for an old west engagement shoot, then on to White Sands for another couples' engagement photos. We also have a sailboat session coming up at Elephant Butte Lake. 2009 is going to be an exciting year!

Natural is awesome when it comes to wedding photography

I am often asked how we can create such natural, yet perfect images with our wedding photography. While thats a question I love to answer, to consistently get great images at every wedding, and especially at every wedding location, a wedding photographer needs a lot of training and experience. Just a slight change in camera angle, a bit of extra light from a reflector, a little communication, and some enhanced camera settings, can turn an average candid or photo journalistic opportunity into an incredible and memorable image.

Winter can sometimes be a bit of a challenge when it comes to outdoor engagement sessions. We always get great images, but it can take a bit more work in lighting and background selection. When Eya asked me about going to the Botanical Gardens for her winter engagement session, I was really excited. I knew we would end up with some awesome shots. We needed some great variety in the images, because she wanted to use them for her Christmas greetings and her Save The Date cards. We took a beautiful couple, added some warm lighting, a touch of fashion in the posing , and created a beautiful set of photographs. Thanks guys, you were so much fun to work with and getting to know you was a blast.

One of the greatest pleasures we have at Kevin's Photography is getting to photograph the families and their children of our past brides and grooms. We really enjoy watching the little ones as they grow, and getting to see them for every session we photograph. Lots of our wedding couples join our, "Watch Me Grow " program. This is where we get the opportunity to photograph everything from the maternity session until they turn one year old and beyond . We then create an incredible album for both mom and dad.

I have to say that it was such a joy to photograph Kacie and Tyrels' wedding in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We had a ball photographing the rehearsal on Friday, Oct 31st, the wedding ceremony on Saturday and the romantics at White Sands National monument on Sunday. This couple was such fun, and I have to say that Kacie is a natural when it comes to posing. With a little guidance, she fell right into the poses and everything flowed so well. Thanks so much guys for getting up so early on Sunday and helping us to create some fantastic images at White Sands. You guys rock!!!

Great Ideas, Beautiful Outgoing Couple, We Did It

What a great day we had with Rebecca and Larry, to say these two are fun, adventurous, and exciting to be around is an understatement. I love doing engagement sessions, its a great time to start getting acquainted with them. When they invited us out to dinner after the session I knew we were on our way to becoming friends. Fall colors and Engagement sessions WOW

We have been in the Bosque almost every day over the last three weeks. In fact last Sunday we did three engagement sessions and two family sessions. We started at 9AM and were busy creating beautiful images till after 5PM. I love doing these sessions. The great outdoors, the beautiful colors, the relationships we start building with our clients. It just does not get any better.

Adrienne and Larry are getting married in February, I really enjoyed getting to know them and I am so looking forward to photographing the wedding.
